It’s a sad day for baseball across Wisconsin.
The Madison Mallards say Northwoods League umpire Conor McKenzie died in a car crash over the weekend. He was on his way to call yesterday’s game in Madison. Two other umps who were riding with him were also injured in the crash. The Mallards say they will hold a moment of silence for McKenzie before tonight’s game. The team canceled last night’s game, and say they plan to make it up on August 1st.
