Investigators in Sparta are waiting for video of the city’s fireworks show to see just how five people were hurt Tuesday night.
Fire Chief Mike Arnold says it looks like a mortar shell burned through the side of its case, tipped over, and fired some fireworks into the crowd. The chief says five people were hurt, though none of them seriously. The misfire happened near the end of Sparta’s Fourth of July show.
