Local Donation Pays Off School Lunch Debt

The Eau Claire Area School District will be able to pay off its school lunch debts thanks to the generosity of an area church and a food pantry.

Yesterday the district was presented with a 29-hundred-dollar check from The Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd and a seven-hundred-dollar check from Ruby’s Pantry, which is a foodbank hosted by the church. Normally the district uses funds from the general operating budget to pay off school lunch debts. Abby Johnson, the district’s Business Services Executive Director, says the donation will allow the district to have more money for other expenditures.
