The state’s Department of Natural Resources on Friday said hunters bagged just over 42 thousand turkeys during the spring season. That is up seven percent from the five year average. Turkey season actually started back on April 15th, and ran until this month with a few breaks in between. Hunters can start to apply for next year’s turkey season last this year, in December.
