Republicans from across Wisconsin are in La Crosse this weekend for the party’s annual state convention.
GOP leaders and voters are focusing on 2024 after a disappointing election season in 2022 and earlier this year. Democratic Governor Tony Evers won reelection last November and liberal Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Janet Protasiewicz won the race a state supreme court seat this past April. Republicans are hoping to unseat President Biden next year and find a candidate who can beat Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin.
The state GOP convention runs through Sunday at La Crosse Center.
