Mary L Underwood, 38 years of age, from Joliet, IL has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Eau Claire Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense, with four children in the vehicle under the age of 16.
On June 12, 2023, at approximately 5:37 AM a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper stopped a car on Interstate 94 that was traveling east near mile marker 105 in Jackson County for speeding. During the traffic stop, the Trooper detected the odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the car. A subsequent investigation, including a standardized field sobriety test, was conducted on the driver. The driver, Mary L. Underwood from Joliet, IL was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a restricted controlled substance 1st offense with a minor in the vehicle.
Ms. Underwood was transported to a local hospital for an evidentiary test. The children, ages 12, 11, 9, and 4 were released to a responsible party. Ms. Underwood is being charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence 1st offense with a minor child in the vehicle and was also cited for her speed.
