The state of Wisconsin is sending two million-dollars to Green Bay for the NFL Draft, and may send 400 million-dollars to the Brewers for their stadium, but lawmakers are not sending any money to Milwaukee’s proposed downtown soccer stadium.
The budget-writing Joint Finance Committee last week left the soccer project off of the list for the next state budget. Governor Evers proposed spending nine million-dollars in state money to help get the 45 million-dollar project built. The Republicans who control the state legislature say they had to cut lots of things from the governor’s wish-list.
