Wisconsin energy companies are aiming for higher rates next year.
Four companies, including Madison Gas and Electric and Alliant Energy are proposing significantly higher electricity rates for 2024. Madison Gas and Electric wants a three-point-eight percent increase and Alliant is looking for an eight-point-four percent bump. The Public Service Commission would have to approve any rate increase and will audit the energy companies this summer and talk to all sides before deciding whether to approve higher rates.
