Chili’s is no longer coming to Eau Claire.
Economic Development Manager Aaron White yesterday said the developer pulled out of the project near the intersection of Gateway Drive and Prill Road, but didn’t give a reason. Eau Claire’s Plan Commission gave its okay for the new restaurant last summer. White said while the developer didn’t say why they are pulling the plug, though it’s not uncommon for developers to back-out if the project becomes too expensive.
White says there is some interest in the space, but he’s not offering any details.
