Eau Claire Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a home explosion 1117 E Tyler Ave shortly after 1pm.
Engine 2 was first to arrive on scene to find the windows of a 1-story wood framed residence blown out with no smoke or fire visible. Engine 2 reported occupants were out of the structure that were quickly attended to by Medic 10 and released on scene. Engine 2 and Engine 6 quickly preformed searches of the structure and reported no other occupants. High levels of combustible gas were found throughout the home. Utilities were quickly secured and Xcel Energy notified. Ventilation efforts performed by Engine 9 were able to bring combustible gas levels down.
Damage estimates are about $100,000 as of now.
