The long march to a new state budget in Wisconsin is starting with more political bickering.
The heads of the budget-writing Joint Finance Committee yesterday accused Governor Evers of playing politics and ignoring the budget process by scheduling a bill signing during today’s public budget hearing. JFC co-chair Senator Howard Marklein said the governor’s decision to sign a law that he helped write while Marklein is busy with the budget is a ‘blatant political move,’ and is ‘disgusting.’ Marklein and state Rep. Mark Born will start the public part of the budget process with a public hearing in Waukesha today.
Meetings move to our area in the coming days with a stop in Eau Claire.
