The Wisconsin Legislature is beginning their work in drafting the state’s next budget.
Lawmakers heard from Department of Corrections and Department of Transportation officials in committee meetings yesterday. Hearings will continue with representatives from the Department of Administration and Department of Safety & Professional Services later this week. The Joint Finance Committee is also hosting public budget hearings in Waukesha, Eau Claire, Wisconsin Dells, and Minocqua on dates through next month.
