The fines for reckless driving in Wisconsin are about to double.
The Wisconsin Assembly yesterday approved a plan that would hike fines for anyone convicted of reckless driving. Right now the fines start at 25 dollars and go to 200 dollars. The legislation from state Rep. Bob Donovan would increase that to up to 400 dollars.
Lawmakers also approved a plan to make it easier for local governments to take cars away from reckless drivers. Governor Evers’ office has made it clear that he intends to sign both plans once they reach his desk.
