There are new calls for baby boxes across Wisconsin after police in Whitewater found a baby dead in a field over the weekend.
State Representative Barb Dittrich yesterday said while parents can surrender a baby to police officers or firefighters no questions asked within the 72 hours, state law doesn’t allow for baby box surrenders. Dittrich says the baby’s death shows the need for a new law and more education.
