Police Calls to Public Schools Make a Jump

A new report says Milwaukee Police spent a lot of time in the city’s schools last fall.

The Badger Institute released a report that says police calls to Milwaukee Public Schools jumped 21 percent during the fall semester. The increase comes after Milwaukee Public Schools voted to end their relationship with the city’s police department following George Floyd’s death in 2020. The report says calls to the police about fights, sexual assaults, and students with guns all jumped during the fall semester.
