A Wisconsin-based sanitation company has been hit with a million-and-a-half dollar fine for employing underage teens.
The Department of Labor on Friday hit Packers Sanitation Services with the fine for employing teens as young as 13 to clean meat packing plants across the country PSSI is one of the largest meat packing plant cleaning companies in the country. The Department of Labor says it found 31 cases where PSSI used underage teens to clean a plant, though Labor officials say they think PSSI employed over 100 teens. At least three of those teens suffered chemical burns while cleaning the plants.
