The Eau Claire Fire Department was dispatched to an appliance fire at 4315 Harless Rd on Wednesday February 8th at 18:16. Additional information from the communication center reported there was a fire on the stove and occupants were exiting the structure. The incident was upgraded to a full structure fire response which included 3 Engines, 1 Truck, 1 ambulance, Battalion Chief and Duty Chief.
Upon arrival, crew observed smoke showing from the front side of the structure. Fire crews made immediate entry, located and extinguished the fire, containing the fire to the kitchen area. Heavy smoke conditions required significant ventilation of the first floor. Fire extension checks were performed in the fire area to ensure the all hot spots were extinguished.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No inquires have been reported at the time of this report.
