Vernon Co. Deer Farm Depopulated

There are no longer any deer at a Vernon County deer farm.

Wisconsin’s Department of Agriculture on Friday said it ‘depopulated’ the farm because of a CWD outbreak.  In all, 32 animals were put down.  The state first quarantined the farm back in September after a buck tested positive.  DATCP says three others would also test positive.  The state will pay the farm owner for the deer, but the farm is also banned from having more deer for five years as part of a CWD safety plan.
