A fire does an estimated $100,000 in damage.
On Friday, December 16, at 22:13, the Eau Claire Fire Department was dispatched for a structure fire, at 1020 Zephyr Hill Avenue, a residential duplex. Two engines, one ladder truck, one medic unit, Battalion Chief, and Duty Chief responded. Upon arrival, crews observed a significant amount of smoke and fire coming from the garage of the structure.
Crews swiftly located all occupants and launched an offensive fire attack. The fire was quickly contained to one side of the duplex and extinguisghed. Aggressive overhaul and salvage operations were completed. The exact cause and origin is currently under investigation.
