There continues to be shock and anger at UW-Richland. Students and community leaders continue to plead with the university not to close the Richland campus.
The UW’s president announced last month he is closing the campus because just 60 students are taking classes. Students blame the low enrollment on the lack of university support, a lack of money, and the move to regionalize the UW System. Richland County Board member Lisa Gentes is working on a resolution that asks the state for four million-dollars to save the campus. She worries that 200 jobs will be lost when the school closes-up in Richland.
