The planners for Waukesha’s permanent parade memorial say they’re not even ten percent to their million-and-a-half dollar goal.
The Waukesha Parade Memorial Commission says it’s raised just 96 thousand-dollars so far. The Commission’s Jerry Couri says they advertised for donations heavily at both the parade’s remembrance and at Sunday’s parade. He said the lack of donations means that it will take more time to build a permanent memorial to the six people who died and 60 others who were hurt in the attack on last year’s parade. The hope was to have the new memorial built before the second anniversary of the attack next November.
