A conservative public interest law firm is suing the Wisconsin Election Commission over alleged “mishandling” of military absentee ballots.
The Thomas More Society filed suit on Friday in Waukesha County Circuit Court. The group wants the court to issue a temporary restraining order and temporary injunction, ordering election officials to set aside all military absentee or mail-in ballots prior to Tuesday’s election. The lawsuit argues the injunction is needed to verify that the military ballots are “authentic and not fraudulent.” The Election Commission on Friday defended the security of Wisconsin’s military absentee ballot process, saying there are additional rules governing the ballots.
