Madison’s Police Civilian Oversight Board hires an independent police monitor.
Robert Copley will be paid 122-thousand dollars a year to oversee the Madison Police Department’s compliance with internal policies and procedures. The city says Copley was previously the police open records legal advisor in Milwaukee. He earned his law degree from Marquette.
