The hospital system yesterday said as many as three-and-a-half million people may have had their information shared with other companies. The information was included in the data collected by Google and Facebook’s parent company Meta that tracked patients’ medical providers, the type of appointment or medical procedure, dates and locations of scheduled appointments. Advocate says it doesn’t think any of the information that was released will lead to identity theft or financial harm. The leak covers people in both Wisconsin and Illinois.
