WI DNR Looks to Dispose Of PFAS News | October 18, 2022 | 0 | by Morgan McCarthy The state is ready to get rid of 25-thousand gallons of firefighting foam. Wisconsin’s Department of Natural Resources yesterday said it will collect, then dispose of, the foam in an attempt to limit PFAS pollution across the state. Many fire departments are hanging-on to their foam because it would cost them too much to get rid of it. DNR will use one million-dollars to take that foam off of their hands. PFAS foam has fallen out of favor with fire departments because of concern that the foam pollutes local water and soil sources.
