As many as 40 people may have been hurt in a weekend bonfire explosion in Shawano County.
The sheriff’s office there is trying to track down all of the victims. Yesterday, investigators said at least 17 people were treated at local hospitals. A half dozen people were treated in Milwaukee. The sheriff’s office says someone poured something into Saturday night’s bonfire in Maple Grove, and that caused the explosion.
Pulaski Community Schools sent a letter home to parents yesterday saying some of the people who were hurt are current and former students.
