EC Health Department Looking For Info. In Dog Bite Incident

The Eau Claire City-County Health Department is asking for your help to find a dog that bit a woman, Thursday, October 6th, 2022, at around 4:00 p.m. The bite occurred near Heartland Dr. N and Pine Park Dr. on the recreational trail located south of South Middle School and west of the baseball fields in Eau Claire, WI. The animal owner was heading southbound on the trail.

The person running with the dog was described as a white female with long blonde hair, approximately in her 20’s, and wearing athletic clothing. The dog was described to be mostly black in color with white markings around the legs, possible Shepherd or Husky type breed. The dog is estimated to be
approximately 60 pounds.

We need to find this dog to determine its health and rabies status. If we don’t find this dog, it could bite again, and the bite victim may need to have a series of expensive injections to prevent rabies.

If anyone has information about this dog, they should contact the Eau Claire Communications Center at 715-839-4972. For more information about rabies exposures and what to do if you are bitten by an animal, CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO.
