Wisconsin’s state superintendent wants more money for schools in the next state budget.
Superintendent Jill Underly yesterday released her two-point-five billion-dollar budget proposal. It would spend more on per-pupil aid for local schools, spend more on special-ed, spend more on student mental health, and spend more to offer all school kids in the state free school lunches. Her plan is not likely to become law.
The Republican-led legislature will start writing the new budget early next year.
