The kind words and remembrances continue to pour-in for former Eau Claire County Sheriff Ron Cramer.
He passed away unexpectedly this week. His fellow law enforcement officials remember Cramer as a dedicated sheriff, but also a community leader. His family is remembering him as a dedicated family man.
In the office, Eau Claire County’s undersheriff is stepping-up until a new sheriff can be elected.
The county yesterday said Undersheriff Cory Schalinske will take over for Sheriff Cramer. He will serve until the upcoming election or an appointment from Governor Evers. He’s a ten-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Department. He is not one of the candidates running to replace Cramer in the November election.
Schalinske, along with Jail Captain Dave Riewestahl and the law enforcement team in the Sheriff’s Office have established command, and service will continue as normal.
