The state’s Department of Natural Resources yesterday said the bridge replacement may result in the incidental taking of the threatened wood turtle. WIS-DOT is replacing the Cobban Bridge on the Chippewa River because the old one was too dangerous. DNR says it hopes crews will minimize the damage to the turtle’s habitat during the construction.
