There won’t be any politicians in Middleton’s Good Neighbor Festival this weekend.
The parade usually allowed elected officials a chance to march but kept candidates out. Festival President Nancy Vickery said they’re making the change this year after some complaints and online criticism. Almost all the elected leaders who’ve marched in the past are Democrats, but Vckery says she can’t control the fact that Republicans don’t get elected in Middleton and Dane County.
