A Menomonie city council member is accused of threatening officers’ jobs after they arrested him for drunk driving last week.
Officers say council member Lucas Chase told them he was going to call the chief after they stopped him for a burned-out taillight, then arrested him for OWI. It’s Chase’s first OWI arrest. Officers say Chase also called Menomonie’s mayor during the traffic stop. The mayor yesterday said Chase didn’t ask him for any favors.
