Wisconsin’s governor wants to cut taxes and the price of gas.
Governor Tony Evers yesterday announced a plan to cut taxes by about 600 million-dollars. He wants to use some of the state’s record five billion-dollar surplus to pay for tax cuts for families who make under 150 thousand-dollars a year. The governor also wants to end Wisconsin’s minimum mark-up law which adds about 30 cents to the price of gas. Republican lawmakers say the governor’s new plan is just an election year promise. They say the governor wanted billions of dollars in tax increases in his two proposed-budgets.
