A pedestrian crash turns deadly in Eau Claire.
On August 23, 2022, at 7:50a.m., the Eau Claire Police Department and Eau Claire Fire Department responded to the area of Fairfax Street and Damon Street for a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. EMS performed CPR on the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital, where he later died.
The pedestrian has been identified as 93 year old Jonathon P. Schaller.
The crash is under investigation by the Eau Claire Police Department with the assistance of the Wisconsin State Patrol. The driver remained on scene and has been fully cooperative with the investigation.
