Stillwater Tradition Could End

The days of jumping off the Lift Bridge in Stillwater may be coming to an end.

Mayor Ted Kozlowsi is pushing an ordinance that would outlaw what has traditionally been a summertime right of passage. The mayor, who says he jumped off the bridge when he was young, says it’s a safety issue. Jumping off the bridge is not technically illegal in Stillwater, something the mayor and city leaders say surprised them. The ordinance will come-up for its final vote in the first week of September.
