Most of us have a special spot for the place we call home. For this week’s Friday Feel Good we meet Jill, Kellie, and the story that now means both of them share a special tale for the place they share and call home.
There was a shelter dog named Jill in Texas, who won’t be a shelter dog any longer. She was finally adopted after ten years. She first arrived at the shelter ten years ago as a stray, heartworm-positive, one-year-old dog. She was having trouble finding a home because she is part pit bull and many landlords don’t allow it. Since there was trouble finding her a family, and the shelter is a no-kill shelter, it became her home and the workers became her family. In early July, animal lover Kellie Blassingame began her search to adopt an older dog and immediately fell for Jill.
After she adopted Jill, Blassingame shared the pit bull mix’s story on social media to show that senior dogs deserve the same love and care as all other canines searching for forever homes.
Proof that their home just got a little sweeter.
