New Plan Addresses Harassment of Election Workers

Madison’s mayor wants new fines for people who harass election workers.

Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway yesterday introduced an ordinance that will allow the city to fine people up to one thousand-dollars for threatening, screaming at, or being disruptive to election or poll workers. The mayor says election workers should not have to worry about doing her job. She didn’t, however, have any specific examples of harassment in Madison. The plan is set for a vote next week.
