Eau Claire’s coronavirus stimulus money looks to be going toward the city’s transit center and a couple of new hires at city hall.
The city council will vote tonight on 13-and-a-half million-dollars in American Rescue Plan money. A big chunk of that, about five million, is earmarked to finish work on the new transit hub. There are also plans to hire a new city inspector and a diversity, equity, and inclusion coordinator. There are also calls to use some of the money for a warming center and a cooling center.
