Hy-Vee Voluntarily Recalls Potato Salad

Hy-Vee grocery stores are recalling some potato salads due to possible microbial contamination.  Yesterday, the Iowa based chain issued the voluntary recall of Hy-Vee and Mealtime branded potato salad products.

The products were distributed to stores in Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin.  The statement says preliminary tests showed microbial presence in the production line that processes the potatoes.   Final test results on just what is the microbe that was detected are due back within the next seven-to ten days. Product expiration dates go from July 31 to August 4.
