They are asking people not to paint turtles in La Crosse.
The Coulee Region Humane Society yesterday said painting turtle shells can hurt turtles. The group says some people think adding a layer of reflective paint will help drivers avoid the turtles. The Humane Society says it’s best to leave wild creatures alone.
