Wisconsin’s governor is promising to forgive any doctor who continues to provide abortions in the state.
Governor Tony Evers told Democrats at their convention on Saturday that he will offer clemency to any doctor who breaks the state’s abortion law. Wisconsin is one of two dozen states where abortion became illegal when the U.S. Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade on Friday. The governor said he doesn’t think a law that was written before the Civil War should be the law of the state of Wisconsin.
