Governor Evers’ special session on abortion officially lasted less than a minute.
Republicans lawmakers gaveled in and out of the session yesterday without a debate or a vote on a new abortion law. There was no real chance they would vote, there wasn’t a plan to vote on and Republicans made it clear they were not going to vote to legalize abortion. Democrats yesterday protested instead.
Wisconsin is one of nearly two dozen states where abortion will become illegal if Roe v. Wade is struck down.
