Add Madison to the list of cities that are paying people a guaranteed monthly income.
Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway yesterday said Madison will pay 155 families 500 dollars per-month for a year. That comes to six thousand-dollars per-family, and 930 thousand-dollars in all. The mayor says the money is coming from donations, not taxpayers.
The families who get the 500 bucks can spend it on whatever they like. Applications are being accepted until July 3rd.
