A Juneteenth flag flies over the Wisconsin state capitol this weekend.
It is the third year in a row the Juneteenth flag is getting raised above the Capitol building after an executive order from Governor Tony Evers on Friday. The flag was raised yesterday afternoon and will fly until sunset in the 19th.
The flag commemorates the moment on June 19, 1865 when the last community of African Americans found out they were free from enslavement after the Union victory in the War.
