On Thursday June 16, 2022, at approximately 10 PM the Eau Claire Fire Department responded to 104 Illinois St for a report of a structure fire.
Upon arrival fire crews found light smoke conditions on the 2nd floor of a residential group home. Evacuation had taken place and staff reported a fire in the bathroom. Prior to ECFD arrival, staff was able to discharge an extinguisher limiting the extension and containing the damage. Fire crews confirmed the fire did not extend past the 2nd floor bathroom and called the fire under control in approximately 20 minuets of being on scene.
ECFD fire inspector was requested to lead the investigation. There were no reported injuries, and residents were able to make arrangements to stay off site for the evening. The fire department was
assisted by the Eau Claire Police Department, and the Eau Claire Communications Center. Battalion Chief Brian Toonen
