“In By 10 Art By 5 – A Larry Stark Retrospective will be on display from June 24-August 29 at Pablo Center’s James Hansen Gallery.
Rooted in the documentary tradition, Larry Stark’s art is a personal and cultural record depicting everyday life as well as the homogenization of American landscapes and infrastructure occurring during the 1960-1980’s. This exciting exhibition brings images from the past into a relevant present. One of the artists conceptual projects involved traveling across the country during the month of May in 1970, eating only at the fast-food chain McDonald’s. Stark’s work has been collected and exhibited nationally in major museums and galleries.
Select images from Stark’s 60-year career are part of this exhibition curated by local artists Lori Chilefone and Jyl Kelley. Admission is free.
