June is Pride month and local events are planned in our area.
There will be family story time and a drag show at Eau Claire’s Pride celebration tomorrow. The events at Phoenix Park start at 11 a.m. tomorrow. Organizers say there will be yoga in the park, a time for kids stories, and an afternoon drag show. Cordelia Corndog, Elizabeth Eau Claire, Vaughn Illa, Benny Nyland, Siren, Tristan Wilde, and Khloe Wold will perform.
In this Pride Month, one of Wisconsin’s largest LGBTQ+ groups is encouraging schools to launch more investigations over misgendering and sexual harassment.
Fair Wisconsin yesterday released an open letter after Kiel Schools closed its investigation into three middle school boys accused of not using they/them pronouns for another student. The group says ‘anti-trans extremism’ is putting kids in Wisconsin schools at risk. The group says more schools should use their policies and powers to look into cases of misgender, sexual harassment, or bullying.
