“All gave some, some gave all.”
As we take time to reflect on our nations greatest heroes we also continue to feel the effects of their service and sacrifice.
For this week’s Friday Feel Good we travel to a familiar name that soon may have a new name.
The largest active-duty military base is poised to get an extreme makeover. A federal commission is suggesting that Fort Hood in Texas be renamed to honor Richard Cavazos, who was the Army’s first Hispanic four-star general
Danny Vargas, who heads the American Latino Veterans Association, says that the renaming will inspire other Hispanic soldiers. Cavazos died in 2017 and is buried with honors at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
To all of our military heroes and their families to whom we owe so much, we sincerely salute and thank you on this Memorial Day weekend.
