Today is National Wine Day.
Whether you’re a fan of a heavy merlot, a crisp pinot grigio, or something in between, today is the day to break out a bottle and savor your favorite wine. National Wine Day was coined in 2009, but people have been making and drinking wine for thousands of years. Experts say sophisticated wine production began as far back as 41-hundred B.C., with archaeologists discovering grape presses, fermentation vats, jars and cups in ancient Armenian caves.
While the drink has evolved since then, our love for it hasn’t changed, and today is all about indulging and uncorking a bottle to celebrate.
