One of Wisconsin’s congressmen is among those asking that the federal government stop agribusiness mergers.
Madison Democrat Mark Pocan introduced the Food and Agribusiness Merger Moratorium and Antitrust Review Act. It would prevent big farm and food companies from combining. Pocan is blaming consolidation among farm and food companies for price spikes and the country’s baby formula shortage.
He said Congress must do more to help customers afford the basics that they need.
